1. Almora

“If you had wanted to really see what an Alpine village looks like without getting your passport stamped. Well Almora is the place for you. Check out the unhindered view of the old town gently sloping down the sides of the hills with snow capped peaks in the back-ground. Enjoy a lazy sun-down at Bright-end corner. Take a stroll down the old Sadar Bazar. Take a peep-in into the museums. There will be something that will be your personal favourite in this town, after all everyone ranging from Swami Vivekananda to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore could not have been so wrong about this place! All of them came here repeatedly and stayed on for long periods of time.”

2. Mukteshwar

“Mukteshwar is a nice place to visit for people who want peace. Mukteshwar gives a 360-degree-view of Himalayas. The view is awesome early in the morning. We visited a hidden waterfall near Mukteshwar, which is the best experience when we trekked for a waterfall. Awesome and nice food. We also enjoyed trekking, rappelling and mountain climbing. Overall, a nice experience and a must-visit.”

3. Chail

“I had the pleasure of visiting Chail. It was an amazing experience there. Chail is a small town at the end of a very curvy steep road about ninety km from the nearest railway station at Kalka. It’s a small town with picturesque views of the Shivaliks and a grand view of the himalayas in the distance. It has the world’s highest cricket ground at the Army School. Mainly, its a laidback place, which allows you to get away from the crowds and pollution of everyday life. It's a really gods abode in Himachal.”

4. Dhanaulti

“The beauty of Dhanaulti lies in the hills that surround it, making it a peaceful and serene place. It is just a few kilometres from Mussoorie. If you are looking to spend a short time with your friends or with your better half, you should go for it. There are beautiful apple orchards and perfect eco-huts. There is an eco-park which is a must-visit. From an end of the eco-park, you can see the distant snow-capped mountains. One thing that you must do is shout your name and hear the beautiful echos from the nearby hills. Weather is very pleasant. The gorgeous landscape will take your breath away.”

5. Dharamshala

“Indian hill stations are all time favourite to me. However, the best place I ever visited is Dharamshala. It is the coolest, greenery and amazing for holidays. The area that really attracted me is Bhagsunag Fall. The falls of Bhagsunag are just 11 km away from main city. The beautifully structured international cricket stadium is another impressive spot of the town. There are lots of other places to visit in the town. You must plan your trip for nearly 1 week at least to enjoy the destination properly. Personally, I believe people should go to Dharamshala in summer season. The finest part at such period is the town is beautiful with weather and rest India is heating up. It's the top destination as per my opinion.”
6. Dehradun

“Dehradun is a great weekend getaway for Delhi NCR residents. The breathtaking views, serene and calm environment makes it an ideal getaway to spend some quality time away from the daily grind. Mussoorie and other nearby places are added incentives to add this destination to your travel list. Have a great weekend in the mountains.”
 7. Naukuchiatal

“Naukuchiatal is at a distance of 250 km (approx.) from Delhi, a perfect weekend getaway destination, takes about 7 hours via road. The lake resort is located right at the end of the road, best location if one wants to keep away from the hustle bustle. The property has spacious, airy rooms most or pretty much all of them facing the lawn and the lake. The resort arranges for boating and other sightseeing activities on request. Overall, a recommended stay at the the lake resort if one's visiting Naukuchiatal.”

8. Rishikesh

“Truly a gateway to heaven, often also known as gateway to Dev Bhoomi or Chardham Yatra. Rishikesh is a spectacular place with scenic beauty, which will fully rejuvenating mind body and soul. Quietly nestled in the Garhwal region of Himalayas, it offers numerous body and mind refreshing activities like yoga, white water rafting, trekking and meditation. Words are less to describe the charm of Rishikesh and its surrounding scenic beauty.” HolidayIQ Traveller Manoj Kumar recommends Rishikesh as the best place to visit near Delhi.

Taj Mahal, a majestic World Heritage Site, is to be enjoyed on a full moon night. It's a really romantic destination for a newly-wed couples. Apart from Taj Mahal, one should definitely visit Fatehpur Sikri, a beauty of Mughal architecture. Late February and early March is the best time for enjoying the really scenic beauty of Agra.”
10. Nainital

“Nainital is a place for all seasons. We went there in last week of March when it was already hot in plains but Nainital weather was amazing. Also, the rush was less and not so cold and warm enough to be active. One can boat for hours in lake. Overall, it was a nice experience for the whole family.” HolidayIQ Traveller Gaurav Chauhan adds, “Boat ride in Nainital Lake is fantastic
