Saudia suspends flights to Najran

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has announced a second suspension of all its flights to and from Najran until further notice, in compliance with a directive issued by the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA), according to a message posted on its Twitter account. The new ban has been attributed to the poor security situation in areas close to Najran.
The GACA announced a one-day suspension of flights to southern provinces last Thursday, which included Jazan, Abha, Wadi Al-Dawasser, Bisha, Baha, Sharourah and Najran. It lifted the ban on Friday.
Passengers would be informed of new developments via SMS. Saudia has asked passengers to provide their cell phone numbers on their reservation registrations so that they could be informed directly when services resume. It added that all tickets would remain valid.
