Eden, New South Wales, Australia

These unusual rock formations are to be found on the beach at Eden, in New South Wale's south coast region. I love the straight lines carved into these structures although I don't know how it has happened. The lovely colours of the rocks also make for an interesting aspect with the warm colours of the impending sunrise adding further to overall feel of the image

UP CLOSE & PERSONAL

Kilkunda, Victoria, Australia

This wonderful rock structure is located at Kilkunda and has been unusually worn by the elements. There is a hole that has been exposed at the end of the bluff and when I was there the other people on the beach told me of a small penguin sheltering inside. I climbed up and took a look at the little fellow who didn't seem all that worried by my presence, so after satisfying one my bucket list items to see a penguin up close and personal I backed away & left him alone.

Mystery Bay, New South Wales, Australia

At the end of Mystery Bay is this small cove. It is surrounded by rugged rocks with a small amounts of sandy beach. Trees grow along part of the cliff top and the waves are attempting to make a small cave on the water line below. Altogether a pleasant scene and a wonderful place to visit

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Melbourne Observatory was founded in 1862 to serve as a scientific research institution for the rapidly growing city of Melbourne, the capital of the colony of Victoria. The observatory was tasked by the Victorian government with maintaining an accurate time reference for the colony through observations of stars using a transit telescope as well as general astronomical research. The site chosen was a gentle hill adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens.' [Wikipedia]

On a recent visit to the Observatory I found this striking sculpture on the forecourt and I decided that the image was worthy of capture

Geelong, Victoria, Australia

These two beautiful yachts sit at berth in the Royal Geelong Yacht Club. I love the long lines of both the yachts, rigging and ropes and the colour in the early morning clouds was wonderful. If you look between the two yachts, the left one named Sundancing, you can see the Ferris Wheel on Eastern Beach which has been a regular visitor to our city every summer.
