ALASKA

It seems like an unconventional destination but whether you believe it or not, many tourists ask for the top reasons to visit Alaska. Its frigid terrain calls out to adventurers but it also offers a wide array of sights and activities that even kids would enjoy. Alaska is without a doubt a favorite tourist spot of families and people who love the outdoors. If you’re still unsure about going there, check out the following reasons to visit Alaska:
1. Alaska isn’t really that far. It appears like a distant place but in reality, it’s a short two-hour flight from Seattle when flying in via Alaska Air. Planes that fly in from Seattle usually land in either Ketchikan or Juneau. From there, you can take a 3.5-hour trip to reach Anchorage, the gateway to Kenai Peninsula.
2. Alaska is alluring for people of all ages. Families with little children will take comfort in the fact that kids will enjoy the place as much as they would. Alternatively, even retirees will find that amidst the adventures it offers, Alaska is a beautiful place for sightseeing. Such allure for people regardless of their age makes the country a flexible destination. This is one of the top reasons to visit Alaska.
Mount McKinley is both the highest peak in Alaska and in all of North America.

3. Alaska’s culture and traditions are still intact. Perhaps this is because Alaska is isolated from most of the world. Old customs are still practiced to this day. In Sitka, Russian influence on their culture continues to live on. Skagway still offers a Gold Rush experience to any tourist who comes to visit.
4. See glaciers in vast numbers. About 100,000 glaciers can be seen throughout the country. Many of them are available for both hiking and sightseeing.
5. Explore the country in a variety of ways. Take a cruise or hop on a flightseeing tour and see Alaska from different angles.
6. Witness wildlife in their natural habitat. Among the animals you can spot in Alaska are polar bears, whales, orcas, moose, black and brown bears, mountain goats, and bald eagles just to name a few. If you want to spot wildlife, this is one of the top reasons to visit Alaska.
7. Eat fresh seafood. The Alaskan King Crab and Snow Crab as well as five different types of salmon thrive in Alaskan waters.
8. Get around easily. Alaska has a fair share of transportation vehicles that will take you across its varied terrain. There are trains, ferries, jet boats, floatplanes, helicopters, and more.
