KENYA
Kenya is one of the top safari destinations in Africa. There are numerous animal parks including one located within the capital city of Nairobi but the most popular is the Masai Mara Reserve which is populated with wild animals including all the big five and is also home to the great phenomena of wild beast migration between July and October. Other Parks include Lake Nakuru National park where the pink flamingoes dominate the lake while the grassland hosts other kinds of animals mostly the big cats. The Kenyan coast is also home to the rare and endangered Colobus monkeys which are conserved by the dedicated Colobus Trust organization.
SOUTH AFRICA
The Kruger national Park in South Africa boasts of the best roads in Africa which makes it ideal for self driven African safaris deep into the wilderness. The roads are of good quality and ensure a smooth ride as you explore the African jungle. It is home to the big five including cheetah, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles. The accommodation in this region varied from camps to bungalows and cottages where you can stay as you explore the vast park.
NAMIBIA
Namibia is an exciting destination for safari lovers. You can experience different kinds of safaris which include Desert safaris across the Namib Desert, Wildlife safaris in Etosha national park or wild safaris in the skeleton coast of Dramaland. The Etosha National Park is one of the finest in Southern Africa and is home to several species of wildlife including reptiles, mammals and birds. It is also a part of the Kalahari water pan that holds water seasonally and attracts lots of birds including flamingoes. Game viewing in this great park is exciting especially during the cooler months when you can spot more animals including leopards and cheetahs. The water holes on the floor of the park offer stunning locations for game viewing.
TANZANIA
Tanzania is a perfect destination for an African Safari. It has numerous park which host and incredible variety of wildlife. The Northern parks are ideal for spectacular wildlife viewing and they include Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire.
For classic game viewing, the Serengeti Park is perfect. The grasslands offer fantastic opportunities for spotting lion kills and also the great spectacle of wildebeest migration starts here. The Ngorongoro crater encloses different species of animals including the rare black rhino. It offers a picturesque location that is densely populated with animals. If you have never seen tree climbing lions Lake Manyara is the place to be.
ZIMBABWE
Zimbabwe is popular for its Victoria Falls which are mystifying and even listed among the natural wonders of the world. The Hwange National Park is the most recognized safari destination in Zimbabwe and it has abundant wildlife. Herd of elephants graze here, giraffes, lions and other spectacular animals also call this home. Bird lovers will absolutely enjoy watching the different kinds of birds that flock here especially during the wet season. Night drives are also allowed where you can see the hopping Springhare.
