Visit West Lake – an Iconic and Inspirational Site in China
West Lake, Hangzhou, China. The iconic lake has been an inspiration for artists, poets and designers for centuries. A number of temples, pagodas, gardens and artificial islands are built on the banks of naturally beautiful freshwater lake. Therefore the place is considered to be a spiritual retreat. The lake has recently been recognized as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The lake serves as a recreational area and attracts tourists as well as locals, who can enjoy various activities here. In the Chinese gardens numerous flower species can be seen. Visitors can learn about Chinese culture in the silk and tea museums. An amazing views to the lake open from the top of Six Harmonies Pagoda. And during the Autumn Moon Festival lit lanterns around the lake create a magical site.
