TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS

The top tourist attractions in Turks and Caicos Islands are the most convenient US getaways. Located 550 miles south of Florida, they’re a short plane ride away. While not as popular as Caribbean destinations, Turks and Caicos Islands are perfect alternatives. In fact, they have made that quite clear by getting more than a million tourists each year. English is widely spoken in the islands since it stands as their official language. And with the US dollar as their official currency, there’s no reason not to go there. Here is a list of the best sights and experiences that both islands have to offer.
1. Grace Bay
The stunning bay is located in eastern Providenciales. Its 12-mile stretch of soft white sand and clear open waters is unmatched, even among the beaches of Turks and Caicos. There is little shade and you’ll get a lot of sun but you may also need UV protection. Restaurants and a golf course are within walking distance and you can rent watersports equipment if you’re staying in the hotel. Otherwise, anyone is free to take a swim since Grace Bay is a public beach.

2. Governor’s Beach
The beach is suitable for snorkeling and is located in the southwestern shores of Grand Turk. Since it’s not too far from the harbour, the beach is often crowded especially on days when there are cruise ships. Outside of these days you will see Governor’s Beach in a completely different state: laid back, relaxing, and with an impeccable view of the horizon. Other than that you can also visit the Governor’s home where you might spot a flamingo during spring or summer.
Offshore and underwater, a flurry of corals and tropical fish are waiting to be seen. Numerous tour companies offer diving opportunities in the area. Governor’s Bay is easily one of the top tourist attractions in Turks and Caicos Islands because of its beauty and the opportunities it provides guests.
3. The Hole
If you’re looking to have an adventure consider diving into “The Hole” in Provo. It measures 80-ft deep and 40-ft wide, naturally carved into limestone. The swim itself is often relaxing but you’ll feel the adrenaline rush as you are lowered into such great depths of water. After the adventurous swim, you can head to the nearby Long Bay and spend the rest of your day relaxing or taking a proper swim. Long Bay is one of the top tourist attractions in Turks and Caicos Islands.
