TOP TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN URUGUAY

The top tourist attractions in Uruguay represent the fine things this humble nation has to offer to the world. Uruguay is the second smallest nation in South America right after Suriname, but even a land of such small geographic proportion contains some epic history. It is interesting to note that Uruguay is the actual battleground of the Treaty of Westphalia on the other side of the world, with the Portuguese and Spanish meeting to duke it out in claiming supremacy of the New World. Throughout the following centuries Uruguay is plunged into a more complex set of conflicts, but the people were able to triumph against such tests. It is interesting to note that Uruguay was once the destination for immigrants, primarily Italians and Spaniards, thus jump starting its commercial and agricultural development.

1. Montevideo
Right after arrival, our tourist immediately decides to spend his or her time in the capital city of Montevideo. It is not surprising for him or her to see a lot of Argentinians in the place since this city is also considered their most favourite summer capital. It is great to begin one’s vacation by taking a dip into the beaches and stroll leisurely by dusk for a romantic sunset view.
2. Casa Pueblo
An evening of romantic atmosphere in one of Montevideo’s beaches reminded our tourist of the one venue that is closest to the emotions and the human heart – art. If one should look for top tourist attractions in Uruguay that features artistry at its finest, the Casa Pueblo is the most recommendable venue. This art gallery is located in Punta Ballena.

3. Colonia del Sacramento
More than an ancient Portuguese territory, this city is known for its best restaurants and nightclubs. Our tourist has just done his or her quiet excursion in Punta Ballena’s iconic art gallery and he or she has heard from people that a long trip to Colonia del Sacramento is truly worth it. Truly this is one of the top tourist attractions in Uruguay for party animals.
4. Aguas Dulces
Our tourist have just had too much to drink in Colonia del Sacramento that he or she might have to stay away from nightclubs and pubs for the rest of the vacation time left. A better way for our traveler to ease up and relax is to visit a fishing village called Aguas Ducles. It is translated as “Sweet Waters” in English and its namesake is born from the fact that this place is abundant in fresh fruits and seafood – a perfect wholesome delicacy for detoxification.
5. Parque Nacional Sta Teresa
The next day after our tourist succeeded the detoxification, he or she is now ready to take vacation to a whole new physical level. The Parque Nacional Sta Teresa is a wonderful venue to go for a wildlife trek. Furthermore, this area also has excellent forest camping grounds to stay for a few nights in order to enjoy the verdant splendor all around.
