The outback is famous for its arid environment, aboriginal culture, and unique wildlife. It’s no surprise that the Red Center attracts tourists who want to see what the “outback” is all about.

1. Alice Springs Desert Park
The park is situated outside Alice Springs, the most famous town in the outback. It is the ideal starting point for exploration of the region. Plants and animals from all over Central Australia including types that are difficult to spot and nocturnal species may be seen here.
2. Museum of Central Australia
The museum digs deep into the region’s natural history. Exhibits feature all the changes that took place in Central Australia, from landscapes to the evolution of local wildlife. Archeological findings including fossils of a giant freshwater crocodile and the largest documented bird,Dromornis stirtoni from eight million years ago are on display. There are also exhibits of present-day fauna in the region and recovered meteorite fragments just to name a few. The Museum of Central Australia is one of the top tourist attractions in Red Center.
3. Curtin Springs Station
Curtin Springs is a cattle station that is still in use. It offers a peak at the existing cattle industry in the outback. Guests can also choose from the variety of accommodations available in the premises. Birds and emus, a large endemic species of non-flying bird, freely roam the grounds.
4. Watarrka National Park
The park is located in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta region of Northern Territory, Australia, about 450 km southwest of Alice Springs. Its main attraction is Kings Canyon. That said, Watarrka National Park is also home to local flora and fauna including more than 600 different kinds of plants.
5. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
It is the site of Uluru or Ayers Rock, the most iconic natural landmark in Australia. Thus, this national park is easily among the top tourist attractions in Red Center. Ayers Rock is a monolith that bears great cultural importance to the Anangu tribe, the aboriginal culture which once lived in the area. It stands nearly 350 meters tall. Tourists are discouraged from climbing Uluru as they consider it sacred
