Birmingham

The top tourist attractions in Birmingham aren’t that popular. The city faces competition with Liverpool, London, and Manchester whose historical attractions continue to fascinate tourists. Birmingham has nothing more than a few historical tourist spots. Most of its attractions are “conventional” and include museums, art galleries, parks, and modern facilities like shopping centers and clubs. Still, this does not mean Birmingham isn’t worth traveling to. It simply means that it offers a distinct traveling experience.
Victoria Square is probably the most prized historic area in Birmingham. The pedestrians-only square features not one but several old buildings. Among the historical structures within Victoria Square include the Town Hall and Council House.

Aston Hall is another famous historic site in the city. It’s also one of the top tourist attractions in Birmingham. The beautifully-restored Jacobean-style mansion was built between 1618 and 1635. The damage it sustained from a canon during the English Civil War is still visible.
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in Chamberlain square digs into the city’s local history. It holds an extensive permanent display including a collection of Pre-Raphaelite paintings. The museum also has temporary exhibits.
Thinktank is a science museum that both kids and adults would find enjoyable. Activities are hands-on and it has a display of vehicular and industrial machines. Thinktank also has its own IMAX Cinema.
Cadbury World is a paradise for chocoholics. The tour will take you through the history of chocolate as well as the Cadbury Factory.

IKON Gallery is a house for contemporary and modern art. Despite having this theme, its collections are housed inside a Neo-Gothic building which was formerly a Victorian boarding school.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Glasshouses feature expansive botanical gardens with a wide range of plants.
Birmingham Nature Center provides sightseeing opportunities of different animal species including otters, deer, owls, and red pandas.
