Walking through the Brandenburg Gate and down the Unter den Linden Strasse it is clear that Berlin has history, charm, and majesty to offer the world. Though the sites of the city attract millions to Berlin, it is the Berlin music venues that keep me coming back to this marvelous city.
Live Music
Gigs in Berlin are found in both the largest concert halls and the smallest pubs. One of the most popular spots for live music is the Rickenbackers Music Inn. This delightful pub is home to acts ranging from jazz, rock, country and folk on a nightly basis. The Quasimodo is a legendary Berlin music venue with jazz, funk and so many other genres of music.
Berlin is also home to several piano bars and jazz clubs. Piano Bar Van Gogh has daily live music of all genres. A-Trane is a wonderful bar dedicated to jazz with a reputation for attracting popular jazz musicians from around the world. Though not widely known for jazz alone, the Junction Bar provides swing, pop and rock. The Junction Bar is a practical fixture in the Berlin music scene.
Adventurers seeking an ambiance of indie rock and folk music popularizing the radios, the Dance Economy Kaffee Burger is the place to be. Its location provides great access to both tourists and locals alike!
Nightclubs
Gigs in Berlin are of course original and breathtaking. The nightclubs offer travelers a glimpse into the heart of the city. Clubs like Cookies have become a staple of Berlin nightlife. The upstairs restaurant provides a more relaxed and easygoing atmosphere, while the dance floor is practically overflowing with enthusiasm. Asphalt is a swanky club that has evolved into a modern New York style with contemporary house music flowing through its heart.

Tresor is a club dedicated to the idea that techno music is the seedling from which the club scene grew. Three rooms, located in this converted underground power station, are filled to the brim with club goers seeking a truly fantastic experience. Berghain, Watergate and About Blank are also three amazing nightclubs in Berlin.
Music Festivals and Concerts
As far as Berlin music festivals go, the city has its fair share of fantastic events. Punk and Disorderlyis a festival that takes place in April. Punk and rock acts from all over Europe gather to feast on the excitement and sharp tones of punk rock. The Berlin Festival is a September festival that has a spectacular line up in 2014 of Woodkid, Moderat, Darkside and Editors.
A concert in Konzerthaus
Konzerthaus is home to the Konzerthaus Orchestra as well as a plethora of classical performances and concerts. Konzerthaus is a beautiful building inside and out, decadent and royal in its appeal.
O2 World is the place to be for Billboard Chart topping acts. Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Areosmith and many MANY more brilliant musicians have performed at this great arena, and many more will follow.
