Beautiful Sites and Fun Activities in the Watkins Glen State Park, USA

Beautiful Sites and Fun Activities in the Watkins Glen State Park, USA
Watkins Glen State Park, New York, USA. The park was opened for the public visits in 1863 as a privately run recreational area, before it was purchased by the state of New York. The park has some incredible natural sites like a narrow 120 m deep gorge. The beautiful Rainbow Bridge and Falls are a highlight of the area.
From the Rainbow bridge a wonderful view opens – the rocky surroundings are the result of an ice age: glaciers have washed out rocks and left this beautiful natural spot. There are a lot of facilities and services in the park: from camping sites, picnic tables, food shops to a pool. Fishing, hiking and cross-county skiing are among the favorite activities here.
Why to go there?
Beautiful nature, various activities, services and facilities.
When to go there?
All year round programs and activities.
How to get there?
Get there by car taking a Rt 14 to a Watkins Glen village. There are a lot of parking lots around the park.
