The Kintai Bridge is located in Lwakuni, Japan. The bridge is a part of the Kikkoe Park which is also well known for theLwakuni castle. The park turns out to be an enchanting tourist destination specifically during the festivals. The historical bridge, castle and the garden included in the park have been declared to be a national treasure in 1922.
The Kintai Bridge
The total length of the Kintai Bridge is 175 meters and the height is 6.60 meters. Nishiki River runs below the Kintai Bridge. The construction of the Kintai Bridge was completed in 1673. It was badly destroyed by the flood in 1674. After the destruction the maintenance of the Kintai Bridge was carried out periodically and hence it remained undestroyed till 1950. In the coming years again the bridge was rebuilt using metal nails. It was reopened in 1953.

There are several ways to reach the Kintai Bridge. You can access the bridge via Iwakuni Station on Sanyo Main Line, Kawanishi Station or Nishi-Iwakuni Station on Gantoku Line and Shin-Iwakuni Station on Sanyō Shinkansen. From all these stations, you can easily reach the Kintai Bridge by booking a taxi or riding on a bus.
