Lokrum Island is an beautiulisland in the Adriatic Sea situated about 600 metres away from the city of Dubrovnik, Croatia. It stretches from northwest to southeast and receives regular ferryboat service from the city. The island can be reached by ferry over from the harbour from the city. It’s a very calm little island, no traffic, recommend bring a good book. Locate a quiet spot and just chill out. It was exciting to hike up to the fort. The trails were a little bit rough. some were closed with very little observed. The swimming was pretty nice as well with a nice bar close to. On the whole, the island is being renovated so a lot of the roads were out of commission and the rest pretty hard to walk. You can see a lot of unfinished work everywhere. Unless your in for another high view from the top, just stay in the Monastery area and you’ll be fine. Don’t reserve more than around 2 hours unless you intend to eat, which I wouldn’t recommend nor discourage.
