The Seven Rila Lakes – A group of Glacial Lakes in northwestern Rila in Balkan Peninsula Region, Bulgaria. The Lakes located at an altitude ranging from 2100 to 2500 meters above sea level. These Beautiful Lakes are formed due to the melting of Glaciers. Each Lake has its own characteristic feature. One of them can boast of pure ice water, and the other has steep picturesque beaches. These Lakes are the most visited mountain lakes in Bulgaria. The Seven Rila Lakes are wild, picturesque and clear. The paths between them are rocky and steep. Each lake has a colorful name meaningful of its shape. The seven lakes can be reached in a three-hour hike from “Seven lakes” mountain lodge. Fish like minnows and trout live in some of the lakes. The party takes place near Kidney Lake and consists of ceremonial rhythmic unison dancing in a large circle. The Rila Mountains are a holy place for the Danovites, where many devotees gather every year to greet the dawn. Seven Lakes consists of The Kidney Lake, The Eye Lake, The Twins Lake, The Fish Lake, The Tear Lake, The Tween Lake and The Trefoilа Lake.
