MICHIGAN, THE ONLY STATE IN America to consist of two peninsulas, contains coastline from four of the five Great Lakes. This extensive coastline contains more lighthouses than any other state in America. Marshes, lakes, and islands make up most of Michigan’s geography, much of which is frozen throughout the cold winter months. As out-of-state visitor numbers increase every year, more tourists are finding these hidden locations that have been known by Michigan’s 10 million residents for years.
