The Prince’s Island Park as the name indicates is a park built on an island on the Bow River. The Prince’s island park is located in the north of downtown Calgary. The park is called as Prince’s Park after the Peter Anthony Prince whose family donated the land for construction in 1947. However, some people incorrectly call it as Princess Park due to confusion in pronunciation.
The Prince’s Island Park has been built on an island which itself is about 20 hectares. There are three bridges that connect the island with city. The North Bridge and the other two connect the Prince’s Park with Eau Claire, downtown Calgary, Memorial Drive and the community of Crescent Heights.

The southern area of the island has been taken care of and transformed into a landscape while the eastern end is a wet-land environment. The timings for the Prince’s Park are from 5am to 11 pm. There is also a pathway for walking along with a hiking trail system. You can see many geese and mallard ducks in the park.

The park has been appreciated for being clean and safe. Limited space is available for car parking and in case of festivals it is prohibited.
