SAINT MARTIN

The top tourist attractions in Saint Martin are among the many sites that people flock to in the northeastern sector of the Caribbean. And although it is not as popular alternatives, this island does provide some of the most exquisite landmarks and hideaways in the entire world. This country is divided into Dutch (south) and French colonies (north) by virtue of the Treaty of Concordia.
But thus far, it has not earned its sovereignty on either side, making it one of the overseas kingdom of both countries. Its tourism economy has yet to be enriched by its natural resources given the lack of full scale marketing of the place. And hopefully, with attention drawn to it, the process is hastened so that folks from all around the world get to appreciate the following sights.
Mullet Bay
Mullet Bay
First on the top tourist attractions in Saint Martin list is that of its beaches, which is no surprise given its location. There are actually 37 of them all in all, every single one ideal for swimming. And guests can look forward to some pampering since there are many hotels and cafes along the coastline that they can order food, drinks and services from. If you are up for some water action, the Orient Bay hosts an underwater marine reserve where you could snorkel, kayak, jet ski and sail out.
And if you want to spare yourself from any stress, stay away from Maho and Mullet Bay because in spite of their beauty, their proximity to the airport runway makes them a little uneasy to stay in. In addition, be wary of clothing optional sun bathing areas as there are a few of them in Saint Martin. On the Dutch side for example, there’s Cupecoy Beach and on the French, people have the Papagayo, Rouge and Prune Beaches.
Next on the lineup is the Loterie Farm, which provides people with fun ecotours and land based recreational facilities that would surely make their stay memorable. The 150 acre reserve offers hiking trails for those who want to experience Saint Martin’s natural environment up close as well as fun zip line obstacle courses that takes you 100 feet up in the air. There is also a restaurant and a lounge you could take advantage of after a tiring morning exploration. And locals highly recommend trying their Curry Chicken.

For those who want a more challenging destination, visitors are welcome to trek up Pic du Paradis, the highest point on the island as well as one of the top tourist attractions in Saint Martin. It goes up to 140 feet and has two observation areas on top that provide a stunning panoramic view of the two sides. If you are not into walking, you could take a four wheel drive with you. But the roads are steep and isolated. So you must be careful. And as much as possible, never go up without an expert guide with you and without informing people below where you are off to.
