The Most Wonderful Roads In The World

Trollstigen, Norway
This famous serpentine mountain is full of sharp turns and tight bends. Due to the weather the road is closed from late autumn through winter. King Haakon VII originally opened the road back in 1936, after it took a solid eight years to construct.

Prior to its completion this road was called the Beiyi Highway, but after completion in 2006 it became known as the Chiang Wei-shui Memorial Freeway. This road touches 3 major cities, Taipei, New Taipei, and Yilan.

Antrim Coast Road, Northern Ireland 
Known as one of the world’s greatest tourist roads, the A2 road begins in Newry city and extends through a number of picturesque fishing towns including Warrenpoint, Rostrevor, and Kilkeel. For nearly 25 miles this road rings right alongside the sparkling blue coast, making it especially popular during the warmest months of the year.
Developed at the start of the 19th century, the road includes many historical elements such as the White Arch bridge built in 1873 as a part of the first 3-foot gauge railway in Ireland.
