Including a famous natural arch, the Étretat is a small coastal village best known for its cliffs. Including Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet, the fabulous sea cliffs and the associated resort beach attracted many famous artists. Sparked with quartz geodes, the pebbled beach is wrapped in dramatic cliffs eroded into huge formations and offshore needles. You can see two of the arches from the town, a walk at low tide are required to see a third one.

In some places the almost vertical walls reach heights of 500 meters (1640 ft) and represent the highest cliffs of the Canaries. Los Gigantes lie across a small bay. It is a little port and resort town which features a black sand beach and a marina. You can take a boat ride from the marina out to the foot of the Los Gigantes cliffs where you can truly understand the enormity and beauty of these dramatic sea cliffs.

Kalaupapa is a village located on the Hawaiian island of Molokai. As recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records, the village is positioned at the base of the highest sea cliffs in the world dropping about 1,010 meters (3,315 feet) into the Pacific Ocean. The movie Jurassic Park III featured views of these incredible sea cliffs. Kalaupapa is not accessible by car because of the steep cliffs and surrounding ocean. Visitors are transported by trail descending along the cliffs to Kalaupapa. Everyday some of the workers at the village also travel on foot on this trail.

The Cliffs of Moher are widely considered to be one of the top tourist attractions of Ireland. The cliffs are amongst the most impressive coastlines in the world drawing almost one million visitors each year. This incredible sea cliffs rise 120 meters (394 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean at Hag’s Head, and just north of O’Brien’s Tower, which is eight kilometers away, they reach their maximum height of 214 meters (702 ft). Many animals live on the sea cliffs. Birds are the most in numbers with an estimated 30,000 birds, which represent more than 20 species.
