3. Glacier national park, MT
Glacier National Park located in Montana, sits on the Canada and United States border.
The park encompasses over 1 million acres of breathtaking scenery and includes parts of two mountain ranges, over 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants, and hundreds of species of animals.
This vast and pristine ecosystem is the centerpiece of what has been referred to as the “Crown of the Continent Ecosystem”, a region of protected land encompassing 16,000 square miles.
4. Zion National Park Utah
Located near Springdale, Utah in the Southwestern part of the United States.
The most majestic feature of the park is Zion Canyon, which is 15 miles long and up to half a mile deep, cut through the reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone by the North Fork of the Virgin River.
5. Grand Prismatic. Yellowstone National Park
The Grand Prismatic Spring located in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States.
Noted by geologists in 1871, The spring was given it’s name due to its striking coloration that seems to match the colors seen by an optical prism in a rainbow.
6. Grand Teton National Park
The park includes the major peaks of the 40-mile-long Teton Mountain Range, of which the park is named after, as well as most of the northern sections of the valley known as Jackson Hole.
At only 10 miles south of Yellowstone National Park, it’s definitely worth planning a trip out here if you’re already planning to see Yellowstone.
