The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the longest and oldest suspension bridges in the world. Built in 1883, it was the first ever steel-wire suspension bridge. The bridge spans over the East River and links Manhattan and Brooklyn. This National Historic Landmark has become one of the main tourist spots of New York City.
Widest: Sydney Harbour Bridge, Australia
It is one of the widest steel through-arch bridges in the world. The 160 feet wide bridge accommodates two rail tracks, eight traffic lanes, a cycle-way and a pedestrian walkway. One of the prominent tourist attractions of the bridge is south-east pylon. The pylon includes a cafe, an Aboriginal museum, a camera obscura and a Mother's Nook and a pachometer.
Longest Suspension: Akashi Kaikyo (or Pearl) Bridge, Japan
Also known as the Pearl Bridge, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is the world's longest suspension bridge. It stretches across the Akashi Strait waterway and connects Kobe and Awaji Island. The incredible colorful illuminations on its cables resemble a beautiful string of pearls at night. Tourists can enjoy a panoramic view from the top of the bridge tower, nearly 300 m above the sea.

The 1,283 ft long engineering marvel is world's longest covered bridge. The spans across the St. John River and connects Somerville and Hartland.
Oldest: Caravan Bridge, Turkey
Built in 850 B.C., the bridge is 2,861 years old and has reportedly been crossed by the likes of Homer and Saint Paul. The arched stone slab straddling the River Meles, in Izmir, Turkey, extends only 42 and a half feet and is about as simple as they come. As impressive as some of the other bridges on this list are, it's hard to imagine they'll last even half that long.
