10. Mount Conner
Also known as Attila, Mount Conner is a flat-topped and horseshoe-shaped mountain. People always confuse it with Uluru, since it can be seen from the road to Uluru and Kata Tjuta, when approaching from Alice Springs. The natives of the region believe it to be the home of icemen who create cold weather. It was named Mount Conner by William Gosse after South Australian politician M. L. Conner in 1873.
9. Brown Bluff
Situated at the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula, Brown Bluff is a ice-capped, flat topped incredible table top mountain, It has 745 meter (2,444 ft) high volcano with a prominent cliff of reddish-brown color. Thousands of Adelie and Gentoo penguins live in the shores in front of Brown Bluff.
8. Mount Asgard
Located in Auyuittuq National Park in Baffin Island, Canada, the mount Asgard is a twin peaked mountain with two flat-topped cylindrical rock towers, separated by a saddle. The name Asgard come from the Norse mythology, where Asgard is the realm of gods. It is a challenging mountain to climb to the mountaineers. Rick Sylvester, stuntman of the James bond film, “The Spy Who loved me” performed a BASE jump off the mountain for the opening sequence although the fictional setting was the Austrian Alps.
7. Kukenan
Also known as Matawi, Kukenan is an incredible table top mountain. It is 2,680 meter (8,793 ft) high and about 3 km (1.9 mi) long tepui. It is located near the relatively famous tepui Mount Roraima. Climbing Kukenan is very difficult, so it is ascended much less frequently than Mount Roraima. At the south end of the tepui, there is Cuquenan Falls, the second tallest waterfall in the world.
6. Heroubreio
Located in the Highlands of Iceland, Herðubreið is a flat-topped, steep-sided table top mountain. It’s actually a volcano which was formed after lava erupted through a thick glacier. “Tuya” is the name of this kind of flat topped mountain. The first ascent was in 1908 despite centuries of knowledge of its existence because the mountain is steep and unstable sides.
5. Debre Damo
Debre Damo in an incredible table top mountain, located in northern Ethiopia. A 6th century monastery located on the top. The monastery is only accessible by rope up a sheer cliff. It is world famous for its collection of manuscripts. It is the earliest existing church building in Ethiopia still in its original style. According to the locals, the monastery was founded in the sixth century by a Syrian monk.
4. Canyonlands
Located in southeastern Utah near the town of Moab, Canyonlands is a national park. It is gifted with a colorful landscape eroded into countless canyons, mesas and buttes by the Green River and Colorado. The park is divided by the rivers into several districts. The Island in the Sky, features a broad in one district, and level mesa with amazing views out over the surrounding country.
3. Auyantepui
Auyantepui is the most visited tepui in Venezuela. Auyantepui means “Devil’s Mountain” in the language of the native Pemon people. Angel Falls, the world’s highest waterfall drops from a cleft near the summit of Auyantepui. It was named after pilot Jimmie Angel who accidentally discovered the falls in 1933.It is nineteen times higher than that of Niagara Falls.

2. Mount Roraima
Also known as Tepuy Roraima and Cerro Roraim, Mount Roraima is the highest (2,772m/9094ft) and most famous tepui in Venezuela. Most of the species in Mount Roraima is unique because the mountain is completely isolated from the ground forest, so the species have to develop independently. The mountain has held a special significance for the indigenous people of the region and it is central to many of their myths and legends since long before the arrival of European explorers.
Arthur Conan Doyle wrote his fictional novel entitled The Lost World on the background a Roraima-like mountain by an expedition in search of prehistoric plants and dinosaurs that were believed to live isolated and unchanged
1. Table Mountain
Table Mountain is the most famous and incredible of the table top mountains in the world. It is located beside the Cape Town, South Africa. Its primary feature is a level plateau approximately 3 kilometers (2 mi) from side to side, surrounded by steep cliffs. The highest peak on Table Mountain is 1,086 meters (3,563 ft) above sea level. Passengers can have a top view of Cape Town by going to the top of the mountain in the cable car.
There is a cable car that takes passengers to the top of the mountain with views overlooking Cape Town and Table Bay to the north and the Atlantic seaboard to the west and south. António de Saldanha was the first European to land in Table Bay. He climbed the mighty mountain in 1503 and named it ‘Table Mountain’.
