Mount Everest has a height of 8,848 meters (29,029 ft.). There are eighteen tricky routes that can be followed by the mountaineers. Two routes are the most common ones. One route starts from Nepal till northern ridge and the other starts from Tibet till southern ridge. The Mount Everest is a test of courage for any enthusiastic climber.
The expedition to climb this summit has been a challenge to most of the people. About 3500 people have successfully climbed and completed this adventurous task. The names of the first mountaineers were Edmund Hillary (New Zealand) and Tenzing Norgay (Nepal), who completed this task in 1953. This is the first official record for the people who have climbed this exigent and dangerous destination.
There have been many interesting records associated with this huge summit. The youngest girl to climb this mountain isMalavath Purna from India and was only thirteen years and eleven months old while the youngest boy to complete the task is Jorden Romero from United Syayes of America who completed the task at the age of 13 years 10 months 10 days old. The fastest ascent from Everest South Base Camp (With Supplemental Oxygen) was made by Pem Dorjee from Nepal in eight hours and 10 minutes while fastest ascent from Everest South Base Camp (Without Supplemental Oxygen) was made by Kazi Sherpa from Nepal in 20 hours and 24 minutes.
The Mount Everest is also a deadly mountain as there have been round about 250 deaths of people who tried to climb this mountain. The troublesome part of the climbing starts as the mountaineers reach death zone. The death zone starts from a region where altitude reaches 8,000 m and atmospheric pressure can get as low as 5.16 psi. In such conditions the breathing becomes difficult. The climbers can die because of loss of vital functions, fatigue, and accident or clouded thinking.
Even with all the perilous facts it is becoming a most approached destination by mountaineers. The journey is difficult yet accomplishing, the views are deadly but breath-taking, the survival is difficult but strengthening and the journey is tiresome yet rewarding. For those who have the courage can step up on this steep mountain to reach the top and even though today the task is made easier as compared to past, it is still an accomplishment to climb the highest Mountain of the world.
