The Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain. Built in 1997, the museum is hailed as one of the most important examples of contemporary architecture. It was designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. The building itself, apart from the exhibitions, attracts tourists to the once decrepit area of the city.
The expressionistic design was and still is quite challenging. Circular shapes wind and fuse into one formless silvery structure, made of titanium, glass and limestone. Architect used computer-aided technology to convey the poetic forms. The museum inside features visiting as well as permanent exhibits of the Guggenheim Museums collections.
