In 1493 Christopher Columbus, became the first European to touch Culebra Islands of Puerto Rico, consisting of a chain of 23 islands with the Main Island. Culebra Islands in Puerto Rico is located around 17 miles east of mainland, 12 miles west of St. Thomas and 9 miles north of Vieques. The coast has cliffs, sandy coral beaches and mangrove forests. The tallest point in this islands is Mt. Reseca (198 m) and the largest harbor is Ensenada Honda. Here the people are known as ‘Culebrenses.’ Culebra Islands is one of the major honeymoon destinations in the current world tourism map.

How to reach Culebra Islands:
‘Benjamin Rivera Noriega Airport’, is the nearest airport. From Fajardo you can avail ferry service also. Other wise, one can access this place from San Juan either by sea or air. And the best season to visit here is between December to April.
