TOP 6 THINGS TO DO IN SANTIAGO

1. Take a City Tour with Santiago Adventures

Santiago, the capital of Chile, is considered New York City’s Latin lovechild. The city is geographically huge, extremely unique, and there’s a lot to see and do here in just a few days in Santiago. Therefore the best way to make sure you see and do everything in Santiago would have to be with a personal tour guide. Santiago Adventures offer small group city tours, as well as a range of other tours in the region visiting the Andes mountains, wineries, and more. To make sure you don’t miss any of the things to do in Santiago and especially if you are short on time, I strongly recommend opting for the ease of a day tour.

2. San Cristobal Hill

Another spot to visit for THE best view over the city is San Cristobal Hill. This is a great way to get an all-encompassing view over the city – standing at about 300m high over the city.

3. Santa Lucia Hill

If you don’t decide to book a day tour and wish to visit the sights of Santiago on your own, you should start downtown at Santa Lucia Hill to get a feel for the city. There’s no entrance fee but you will have to sign your name to pass through the gates, and once inside you will find one of the best views over Santiago city.

4. Take a Day trip for some skiing or snowboarding

If you’ve had enough of the city, you have the Andes mountains quite literally at your fingertips. Just an hour and a half away by car you will reach the foothills of the Andes mountains, where you can enjoy fantastic ski conditions at Valle Nevado Ski Resort. Day passes are possible and you can book a private transfer with Santiago Adventures to get you there in a comfortable 4WD with an English speaking (albeit minimal English) driver.

5. Bellavista Neighbourhood

If you find yourself with time to explore the city at leisure, Bellavista neighbourhood is a good place to start. This is known as the bohemian/artsy end of town, so there are plenty of little streets and alleyways to meander around, as well as trinket shopping in abundance.

6. Plaza de Armas

Finally, the historical heart and soul ofSantiago lies at Plaza de Armas. If you are interested in the history of Santiago and Chile, be sure to stop by here for a visit.
