Today, lets fall in love with a garden that consists almost exclusively of carefully clipped boxwood! Garden of Marqueyssac, Paris emphasizes the harmony of man and nature, here the architects of France expresses the gentle coexistence of humans and nature in the Dordogne. This Julien de Cerval creation has become one of the must visit places for the tourists who visit France.

Lets not keep you guessing further, lets have some glimpses of this marvelous Garden.
Perched on a steep hill overlooking the Dordogne, the placid, gently sinuous river of the Périgord, the gardens of Marqueyssac would be spectacular for their situation alone. 000-071 Views on all sides are breathtaking, whether toward the massive, forbidding silhouette of the fortress of Castelnaud on the other side of the river; in the direction of the gentler aspect of the château de Fayrac; or from the promontory of the Belvédère toward the picturesque Roman chapel of Saint-Julien de Cénac.
A little History
It was Julien de Cerval who dedicated the last 30 years of his life to create a haven of peace in Marqueyssac by transforming the estate he inherited in 1861 into a beautiful residence and a utopian garden. This former jurist from sarlat was a passionate gardener and a great expert of Italian-style gardens and agronomy, which he marvelously recreated in Marqueyssac, with its terraces and ornamental trees such as cypress, elm, Judas, umbrella and lime.70-541-VB
