We had so many opportunities to take incredible photos in New Zealand. Each scene was more spectacular than the last and Lake Tekapo was no exception.
It was a beautiful day and one of the rare times that we decided to cycle to camp during our tour with the Flying Kiwi. The bus pulled over on the side of the road and we hopped on our bikes riding the rest of the way into camp to get a bit of exercise after sitting for so long. I’m glad that we had the chance to explore rather then head straight to camp on the bus because we came across this beautiful church located on the shores of Lake Tekapo.
The Church of the Good Shepherd was one of the first churches built in the area and it makes for the perfect photo spot for anyone stopping here for a look. The glacial water is a perfect compliment to the green grassy banks and dark rolling mountains in the distance. We could never get over the perfection of the New Zealand sky. We have yet to ever see such rich blue skies anywhere else in the world and the crystal clear glacier waters of the country made for some of the most vivid colours we have ever witnessed in nature.
