Description of the place: Cotswolds is chiefly situated within the counties of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, but extended upto parts of Wiltshire, Somerset, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. The entire area is 25 miles (40 km) wide and 90 miles (145 km) long. Cotswolds is surrounded with a series of mountains; and the highest among them is Cleeve Hill at 1083 ft.
Attraction: This part of England offers a typical rural life where life is unhurried and the life style is still very much traditional. The villages of ancient time are so perfectly surrounded with stone cottages that they’re called “chocolate boxes”. The footpaths are full of scenic fields and valleys leading to rivers, canals, woods, and civilized pubs. And this scenic beauty of Cotswolds, helped very much to influence various poet laureates including Shakespeare, who mentioned this place in Richard II.

The Veg Shed, part of the Duchy Home Farm on the A433 going north from Tetbury, sells wonderful local and organic products. Open on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The Stroud Farmers’ Market is the best in the area, which can be enjoyed very Saturday.
Transportation: The Cotswolds lies between the M5, M40, and M4 motorways. The area is bounded by two great rail routes: in the south by the main Bristol- Bath- London High Speed Line and in the west by the Bristol Birmingham main Line.
