AMAZING PLACES: PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK, CROATIA

Lets go to Croatia today in our series of Amazing Places. The Plitvice Lakes National Park is a major tourist attraction of Croatia. This world’s heritage includes lakes, woods and water falls in a total area of 19.5 hectares.  This place has in all 16 beautiful lakes that are turquoise in color, they inter connect as they dribble into stunning and bubbling waterfalls. It is quite a magnificent spectacle; you will not be able to get your eyes off this gorgeous natural view. The National Park of the Plitvice Lakes is located almost in the middle of the capital city of Zagreb and Zadar on the coast.

Things to be done at Plitvice lakes
  • The best thing to do at this National park is walk through the parks and hike through the hiking trails, enjoying the scenic beauty of this place.
  • The largest lake at Plitvice lakes has an electric boat ride, this boat can take you from one end to the other of the lake giving you some unforgettable memories.
  • Ride in the panoramic train, this train runs on a particular route.
  • Eat at the Lika Luka restaurant that is situates at the entrance of the National Park.

  • You must see the waterfalls dripping down the lakes. They are very beautiful.
  • You must see all the 16 lakes at the national park. They are all turquoise in color.
  • You must walk on the wooden walking bridge, made for visitors to enjoy the scenic beauty of this place.
How to reach Plitvice Lakes National Park
You can reach there by road taking a bus down to this hot holiday spot, will take about 2 ½  to 3 hours by bus from either Zagreb or Zadar.
