With hurricane Joaquin bringing cloudy skies, heavy rain, and spooky gusts of wind to the Carolina area…I’ve been in a darker mood. Also, with the start of October, it’s officially time to celebrate the month of all things spooky–starting with these eerie photos of North Carolina!

The off season at Beech Mountain Ski Resort lends a whole new aesthetic.

The graveyard at Old Salem, in Winston-Salem is especially haunting in this light.
3. Foggy brick road
The Land of Oz theme park in Beech Mountain is only open for Autumn of Oz. The rest of the time, the theme park lays abandoned, and somewhat creepy.

Taken in Naples, this picture is seriously terrifying.

In the Outer Banks town of Corolla.
7. Haunted Biltmore
This creepy statue outside of the Biltmore Estate makes the tale of hauntings much more believable.

"Creepy kid with a piano" was seen at Mary's Gone Wild in Holden Beach.

I wonder what secrets this abandoned house holds in Asheville.

Fontana Dam looks extra creepy in this picture.
