Ao Sane (otherwise known as Jungle Beach)

Top of my list, this one can only be reached via a dirt road, which you can find if you get yourself to the Royal Meridien Phuket Yacht Club. Swim, dive and snorkel … say no more!

Panwa Beach

Expect white beaches and palm trees, sandy coves and mangroves, my idea of bliss!

Surin Beach

This is a favorite for tourists and locals. What appeals most to me is that there isn’t a launch pad for boats of any kind, but there are lots of foodie places – and the beach itself is gorgeous, easily one of the best beaches in Phuket.

Bangtao Beach

I fell in love with this beach when I was paddling in the shallow water and then saw a bunch of people on horses having fun galloping along the beach. It isn’t secluded, but it definitely has a special feel about it.

Kamala Beach

Between May and October you’ll share this beach with plenty of surfers, but any other time you will find it quiet although there will always be umbrellas and beach chairs to hire.

Laem Singh Beach

Located between Kamala Beach and Surin Beach, this is a little gem which is just 150 m long and lined with palm trees just like the paradise island beaches should be. The only pity is that in the high season, it isn’t a secret with many people thinking it’s one of the best beaches in Phuket!

Kata Noi Beach

If you want white sand and a place to snorkel or swim, this is for you. It isn’t wildly commercialized, but there is a big resort on the coast, so you will find lots of tourists sharing your beach.

Nai Thon Beach

This one is really special, and surprisingly it hasn’t yet been over-run by tourists. But it takes a while to get there, which is probably the reason why you won’t be fighting off the masses.

Banana Rock Beach

I need to bite my lip here because this is one of the most deserted beaches on Phuket. If there is a “secret” beach on Phuket, this is it! Shhhh…
