1. Musala, 2925 m - Rila
it's name comes from turkish and means "close to God". It 's like a connection between Earth and Sky, like a place where a man can share his deepest desires of his heart and asks to all his dreams come true.
Musala is the highest peak in Bulgaria and on Balkan peninsula.
2. Vihren, 2914 m - Pirin
Vihren is only 11m shorter than Musala, but is preffered by many. Its old name is Eltepe which means "a peak of storms" - that's not surprising at all - here winds change really fast. Here you can find the rare flower edelvais - but it's protected from law. Let's keep the nature as it is.
3. Kutelо, 2908 m - Pirin
This peak is known to a few, but to the most fond mountain tourists. It's the second peak by hight in Pirin and one of your favourites :)
4. Malka Musala, 2902 m - Rila
It connects with Musala by the rock ridge "Trionite". Its crest continues to the north - northeast to Irechek and Denom peaks, which are as well part of this small chart :)
5. Banski Suhodol, 2884 m - Pirin
Banski Suhodol conects with Kutelo through Koncheto - very narrow karst brim - no more than 70 cm. It's really extreeme and only the bravest people try it.
6. Irechek, 2852 m - Rila
This peak is named after the popular bulgarian politician Konstantin Irechek. A lot of avalanches are formed here.
7. Polezhan, 2851 m - Pirin
The peak is known as well as Mangar tepe (from turkish mangar means a coin)
8. Kamentiza | Malak Polezhan peak, 2822 m - Pirin
Both this peaks are at 8th position.
