2. Meteora Monasteries, Greece
One of the most important complex of Greek Orthodox monasteries, the Meteora Monasteries were a sacred place of its time of climax. Word Meteora is taken from Greek language which mean “middle of the sky”. In the 11th century, it was built on top of the sandstone towers without ground routes (roads) and latest technology (machines), many of them are still occupied by various inhabitants. It gives fabulous views.

A piece of cliff-side was bought by Buck Stahl in 1959, it was a place that was overlooking the city of Los Angeles. He decided to make it of glass which would present a spectacular view of the Los Angeles. Though, it took some time, but finally, he found a crazy architect offering a try. The resulting house is based on Marvelous gravity-defying design and built by Pierre Koenig.

An architectural work of Terunobu Fujimor, the Rakasugi-an is a functional dwelling built in peak of two chestnut trees, cut from a closely located mountain. In the Japanese language the meaning of Takasugi-an are ‘a tea house built too high’. There was not a more perfect name for this teahouse than Praksugi-an.
