7. The Great Ocean Road
This 243 kms road is an Australian National Heritage in the south-eastern coast of Australia and connects the cities of Torquay and Allansford. Dedicated to the soldiers killed in World war I, it is also a war memorial. The Twelve Apostles is an important tourist attraction of this road.
6. Death Road
Officially called “Yungas Road”, it’s a 69 km stretch of road in the Yungas Region of Bolivia. The road is notoriously called the “world`s most dangerous road” because of its narrow lane and difficult turns.
5. Heuksando Winding Road
It’s a serpentine road that goes to the top of mountain Heuksando, which is an island in the yellow sea, 60 miles from the port of Mokpo in South Korea.
4. Rohtang Pass, India
Rohtang pass is a high mountain pass situated in the east of Pir Panjal Range of Himalayas and has a stretch of about 51 kms. It goes through glaciers to Himachal Pradesh and is extremely difficult to pass in bad weather. But as they say, it’s worth the trouble!

1. Karakoram Highway
This being highest paved road in the world is often called the “8th wonder of the world” and connects China with Pakistan near Gilgit-Baltistan Region. With a length of about 1300 kms, it follows the Indus river into the hills of the Karakoram range and covers some of the most breathtaking glacial views in the world!
