1. Bagan – Myanmar

Bagan is an ancient city that was the capitalof Pagan between the 9th to 13th centuries. During this period over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone but only 2200 temples and pagodas are left standing today.

2. Zhangye Danxia Landform in Gansu – China

The Danxia landform is a unique type of petrographic geomorphology found in China. It is formed from red-colored sandstones and conglomerates of largely Cretaceous age. These multi-colored slopes give you the sensation of walking into a painting.

Machu Picchu has become a popular tourist attraction with many of the buildings being rebuilt to give tourists a better idea of what the structures originally looked like.
