The world's longest waterslide is in New Jersey and it is GLORIOUS

We've talked about Mountain Creek Waterpark (formerly called Action Park) in New Jersey before. You know, it's that badass waterpark that's building a vertical loop waterslide. The 2,000 foot long inflatable waterslide was declared the world's longest by the Guinness Book of Records last Friday. Riders experience a whopping 90 seconds of exhileration. Park employees have already tested the ride, but the park itself needs to be certified by the State of New Jersey before it can officially open to the public.

The slide is composed of twenty sections that are each 100 feet long, and each weighs 600 pounds. The slide took 600 hours to build, and is made of the same plastic material as is used in bouncy castles. In addition, the slide uses 1,000 gallons of water an hour. The water comes from the waterpark's snowmaking system.

Jimi Hunt is the slide owner and builder, he hails from New Zealand and even though he had no experience with building epic waterslides before, that didn't deter him from creating the world's longest slide. Hunt built the slide to promote his charity, the "Live More Awesome Foundation", which aims to riase awareness for issues related to mental health and basically promote overall happiness.
