Copper Canyon

Copper Canyon is situated in Mexico's legendary Sierra Madre Mountains and is home to the Tarahumara Indians, a cave-dwelling culture famed for their distance running prowess. Copper Canyon is composed of six, interconnected canyons that, when combined, are significantly larger than the Grand Canyon, and in some areas deeper as well. Hundreds of trails crisscross the canyon walls, used for millennia by the Tarahumara, offering fantastic sight-seeing opportunities. Many elements of nature combine to create one of the most awe-inspiring destinations on Earth. Getting to Copper Canyon is an adventure in itself, since much of the area is only accessible via a scenic, 16-hour train ride.
