Star Wars set Tatooine, Chott el Djerid, Sahara, Tunisia. The epic movie’s set was rediscovered by artist Rä di Martino. Apparently, the film set was not dismantled, but left by the crew in the desert. The film set is obviously eroded by the sand and wind and looks like an abandoned settlement on another planet.
It wasn’t easy finding the set of Luke Skywalker’s childhood planet of Tatooine – Martino used service by a local driver, who knew the desert well. But once she found it, the artist has documented her discovery in these pictures. After the photos were published, Star Wars fans have raised $11 000 to restore the set. Today the site is visited by the tourists.
