Vatnajökull Glacier, Iceland | As one of Europe’s largest glaciers, Vatnajökull covers more than 8 percent of the country. An eruption from the volcanic lake Grímsvötn in 1996 melted billions of gallons of ice, triggering a flood that carved the interior of the glacier into spectacular caves. Enter the sparkling interior that glitters like blue gemstones.
