Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina | The Glaciar Perito Moreno overwhelms the senses with its looming presence and resounding crashes as enormous ice chunks break off to splash in the water waiting below. Snow accumulated over a millennia in this low gap in the Andes until under tremendous weight, the snow recrystallized into ice and began its slow flow eastward. Safely see the scene and the dynamic movements of the glacier from catwalks and vantage points on the Península de Magallanes.
