Laguna Colorada, Potosi, Bolivia | Literally translating to mean Red Lake, Laguna Colorada sticks out from its surrounding in the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve with its crimson hue. The red lagoon gets its color from red sediments and algae in the salty and shallow water. Similarly tinted flamingos drink from the lake, including the Andean flamingo, the rarest species in the world.
