Kawah Ijen Volcano, Indonesia | Kawah Ijen Volcano’s blue-green crater looks idyllic from afar, but is actually filled with hydrochloric acid. The volcano spews molten rivers of sulfur which burn an eerie blue upon contact with air and become enormous yellowBANKS upon cooling. This dangerous volcano is extremely active, but sulfur-mining in its fume-filled interior supports many of the people living nearby.
