Jigokudani Monkey Park, Japan | Japanese macaques bathe in the waters of Jigokudani Monkey Park like little sultans relaxing in the hot springs they’ve claimed as their own. The park is at its most beautiful in winter when snow caps the surrounding valley and is contrasted by the steam rising from the pools. The warm waters are a haven for the animals, with pure bliss evident on their faces as they dip into the retreat from the otherwise cold and hostile environment.
