Chalkidiki – a Pristine Retreat in Greece

Chalkidiki – a Pristine Retreat in Greece
Chalkidiki, Greece. A peninsula in the Northern part of the country is a historic area and a place where philosopher Aristotle was born. On the map it looks like a Poseidon’s trident, sprawling towards the center of the Aegean Sea. On the mainland the Cholomontas mountains lie and stretch towards the North. Meanwhile white sandy beaches and crystal clear water welcome lucky vacationers.
There are numerous beaches on the peninsula as those three fingers of a trident create a really long shoreline. Therefore tourists can choose from a wide variety of beach towns, resorts and hotels. Some villages serve as a quiet getaway for the sun bathers and swimmers, while others have a number of night clubs and really busy night life. Choose your destination and start getting ready for a beach season.
Why to go there?
Great beaches and resorts, a lot of ancient architecture and rich cultural heritage. Mountains also provide great hiking trails and unspoiled natural sites.
When to go there?
The region receives mild Mediterranean weather. However summers are the most beach friendly time of the year.
How to get there?
Get there by bus from Thessalonki or its airport.
