Azure Lake, British Columbia, Canada. Found in the Ogilvie Mountains, that are part of the Yukon Ranges, the lake was named Azure due to its vivid blue color. It is not a typical lake, but rather an outflow of the Azure River. The natural wonder is embedded between high mountains, that create wonderful panoramic views.
Since the lake is surrounded by the mountains and dense greenery, there is no road in except by boat from Clearwater Lake through Azure River. From the lake there is only one trail to Huntley Col. However the route stretches across the mountains and makes a journey quite a difficult one. Some adventurers take up a challenge, which takes a few days, though.
Why to go there?
The lake is found in Wells Gray Provincial Park, which is a popular tourist attraction, providing great panoramic views, hiking trails and other outdoor activities. Meanwhile Azure Lake can be a challenging as well as appealing destination for those, who set a goal to see the most exquisite lake.
When to go there?
Anytime except winter, which is cold and brings a lot of snow as well as ice, making the access by water impossible.
How to get there?
By Clearwater Lake Tours water taxi from Clearwater Lake. To reach the former use Clearwater Valley Road.
