Molyvos – a Tourist Capital of Historic Island of Lesbos, Greece
Molyvos, Lesbos, Greece. The tourist capital of the famous historic island, found in the Aegean Sea, offers a wide range of activities. Embedded in the mountainous area, the city features a dramatic landscape, which is dominated by the Byzantine castle, posited on the mountain and overlooking the town.
Hundreds of stone houses gradually descend from the mountain, creating a web of streets, which is entertaining to explore. Many shops, cafes and restaurants are found here too. One can also admire Molyvos and its neighboring surroundings by boat – here one of the most picturesque harbors are found. Vacationers also enjoy water activities, relaxing on the beach and going to clubs at night.
Why to go there?
A beautiful town, which provides outdoor as well as indoor activities. Hot springs of Eftalou are also found near Molyvos and are popular among the visitors.
When to go there?
The climate is warm all year round. Summers are the most beach-friendly of course.
How to get there?
Get to Lesbos by plane from Greece and various European cities. Then take a bus or a taxi to Molyvos – it is a 50 minutes drive.
