(PARIS) -- After several French air traffic controllers' unions called for a strike, hundreds of flights, largely within France, are expected to be cancelled.
A statement from the Directorate General for Civil Aviation in France asked operators to curtail their flight schedule by 50 percent on Thursday. Air France said Wednesday that it would cut its medium-haul flights in and out of Charles de Gaulle Airport by that 50 percent figure for Thursday.
Air France also said that it expects to operate all of its long-haul flights to and from Paris, but that flights to and from Paris-Orly would drop to just 25 percent of scheduled. The carrier will also operate just 40 percent of the scheduled flights to and from French provincial airports.
